    About Hillcrest Drive Elementary

Hillcrest Drive Elementary School and Music Magnet is located in the Baldwin Village neighborhood of Los Angeles, in the historic Crenshaw district, near Leimert Park, and sitting just below Baldwin Hills. Operating on a traditional school calendar, the Community School serves grades Transitional Kindergarten through 5th. Approximately 50% of our scholars are Latino and 50% are African American.

In addition to the community school that serves the largest number of students, Hillcrest offers rich and innovative instructional programs including school-within-a-school models in music and foreign language.  The Community School enrollment is 390 students. Our Music Magnet, the only elementary grades music magnet in the Los Angele Unified School District, houses approximately 100 students. Our Dual Language Spanish Academy serves another 130 students.
